It is considered a basic belief in the christian religion along with the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, which many people think that it is more important than Christmas holiday, because it is the ultimate proof that Jesus Christ is the son of God as he came back from death.
Good Friday is a federal statutory holiday in Canada. It is the friday before Easter Sunday and, in 2021, Good Friday will be on April, 2nd. Employers in Quebec can choose to give the day off either on Good Friday or Easter Monday.
Canadian provinces that do not celebrate: Islander Day, Family Day and Louis Riel Day, consider Good Friday the first statutory holiday after New Year's Day.

A tradition that is also popular arround Easter is, petting zoos. It is where children get a chance to pet and feed bunnies and other animals. In Easter also, families get together and share the Easter weekend meal, which is the largest meal after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
