ASHURA Day In 2021 and 2022 In CANADA

Ashura for Muslims in Canada!
ASHURA commemorates the day Allah saved the Children of Israel from Pharaoh. Ashura is the 10th day of Muḥarram, the first month in the Islamic calendar.
What is typical of Ashura Day?
Well, Ashurah is a very important day for muslims. It all started when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) arrived in Madinah (a city in Saudi Arabia) in 622 CE. He found that the Jews there fasted the day of Ashurah and asked them the reason for their fasting on this day. The Jews replied by saying that Ashurah is a blessed day, because on this day Allah (God) saved the Children of Israel from the Pharaoh (in Egypt) and so Prophet Moses (PBUH) fasted on this day in order to thank Allah (God). Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said after hearing that: "We are closer to Musa (Moses) than you are." So, he fasted on that day (Muharram 10) and commanded Muslims to fast on this day.
The following year, Allah (God) commanded his prophet (PBUH) and the Muslims to fast the month of Ramadan, and so fasting of Ashura became something optional.
"Ashura in Canada in 2021 is on Wednesday, August 18th."
"In 2022, Ashura in Canada is on Sunday, August, 7th."
