Alberta 2021 And 2022 Statutory Holidays

When it comes to national holidays, Alberta, AB, observed some stat holidays that are different from the national holidays in the country.

1- Boxing day, for example, is not a statutory holiday in Alberta but many non-retail businesses consider it as such.

2- Family day, which is the third Monday of February, is a statutory holiday in Alberta.

3- Remembrance Day is also a statutory holiday in Alberta.

4- Boxing Day is optional and you just need to ask your boss about it.

5- Heritage Day (1st Monday of August), is not a statutory holiday in AB, but some people and businesses take the day off anyway. Heritage Day is equivalent to Civic Holiday in other provinces of Canada.
