Labour Day is observed on the first Monday of September in Canada and USA, and it is a federal statutory holiday in Canada.
Canada Labour Day celebrates workers as well as the labour union movement through the country. Many seasonal attractions and shops close after the labour day long weekend.
Labour Day is a holiday where, unlike other holidays when not all people are off from work, all stores and retail stores are closed. Also libraries and banks are closed all over the country. Nevertheless, some convenience stores and restaurants may be open.
Note: The Tuesday day after the Labour Day marks the 1st day of school in Canada.
