Mawlid Al-Nabi _Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
In 2021, muslims in Canada will celebrate Mawlid Al-Nabi on Tuesday, 19th of October. And in 2022, the celebration of Mawlid An-Nabi will be on Saturday, 8th of October.
Mawlid Al-Nabi, or birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is celebrated on the twelfth day of Rabi al-Awwal- Islamic Calander. It is popular in many countries arround the world. The celebration usually includes readings from the Holly Quran, poetry recitation and singing of songs commemorating prophet Muhammad's virtues.
Note: There is nothing in the Quran to say that muslims should celebrate the birthday of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even the prophet himself (PBUH) did not celebrate his birthday or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death.
The date of Mawlid Al-Nabi may vary from one country to another depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not. Also the dates provided here are based on the dates adopted by the Fiqh Council of North America.
